Magnum Psyche

Bred by Lank and Lisa Havice of Magnum Arabians and foaled on May 2nd, 1995, who could ever have foreseen the impact that the stunning, chestnut colt Magnum Psyche would have on the worldwide Arabian horse community? An ethereal vision with an aura to match, it is no surprise that in 12 show ring appearances since May 23rd, 1996, Magnum Psyche has been named nothing less than champion. This includes the titles of Buckeye Junior Champion Colt, United States National Champion Yearling Colt, twice a Canadian National Champion Stallion, twice an United States National Champion Stallion, Brazilian National Champion Stallion and Argentine National Champion Stallion.
His unparalleled show record may be compared only to that of himself as a sire. At the age of 5, Magnum Psyche landed on top of the Arabian Horse Times Leading Juvenile Sires list and stayed there until he was no longer considered a juvenile. In the meantime, his progeny had been earning Magnum Psyche the titles of leading sire of AHA Breeders Sweepstakes Champions and AHA Breeders sweepstakes winners. In due time, the honors of leading sire of halter winners at Scottsdale, Canadian Nationals, and U.S Nationals followed.
Magnum Psyche currently holds the record for the most consecutive years as the leading sire of halter winners at the MAHB Fall Festival, as well as record price for a single stallion service sold at auction, $50,000 at this year’s Iowa Gold Star Futurity.
Magnum Psyche’s meteoric rise to the top has been matched only by his longevity and ability to stay on top. Now at 13 years of age, what ever records Magnum has not already established or broken, he stands poised to shatter.
As we celebrate the 27th year of the MAHB Fall Festival, it is fitting that Magnum Psyche is inducted into the Minnesota Medallion Stallion Hall of Fame. |

Brass
|
Foaled on May 22, 1979, Brass was from the second to last foal crop of the immortal *Bask. Considered to be the stand-out of that foal crop and one of the most look-alike sons of *Bask, Brass became a star at an early age. Many astute horsemen noticed his quality and athleticism—even before they knew his pedigree.
Brass was campaigned successfully in the show ring, earning regional and Scottsdale championships and reserves in English pleasure; however, his run was cut short by a freak lameness.
As fate would have it, back in Minnesota, Taask, the chief breeding stallion at Dick & Lollie Ames’ Cedar Ridge Arabians and a full brother to Brass, had passed. The search for Taask’s replacement led the Ames straight to Brass. The first time Dick and Lollie Ames were introduced to Brass as prospective owners, they were immediately taken with the magnificence that was Brass, and a deal was struck. In early 1989, Brass was on his way to his new home in Jordan, Minnesota, to stand at Cedar Ridge Arabians with Dick & Lollie Ames, founding members of Minnesota Arabian Horse Breeders.
So began one of the greatest relationships in the history of the American Arabian horse industry, that of the Ames family and Brass.
Under the guidance of Cedar Ridge’s breeding program, Brass went on to become a leading sire of national winners. He also quickly became a leading sire of halter and performance winners at the MAHB Fall Festival and is to this day the leading all-time sire of Fall Festival performance champions.
As we celebrate the 27th year of the MAHB Fall Festival, it is only fitting that Brass is inducted into the Minnesota Medallion Stallion Hall of Fame.
