Khoumsalla was purchased from California as a yearling. He had a successful show career on the west coast shown by Ray Fisher. He won many Junior Championships and was Reserve Champion at the Cal-Bred Futurities. His first show in Minnesota was the SAHARA Sands Show where he was pinned Junior Champion Colt, shown by Jerry McRae. Over the next few years, Khoumsalla won many championships handled by Jerry McRae and Jay Allen. He had a lot of charisma in the show ring and when his number was called out he would rear up and kick both back feet straight out and then trot up to geth is ribbon. He loved going to shows and as he got older and didn't go anymore he would watch an holler as the trailer was being loaded. He was just absolutely sure we were forgetting him
The first year of the Fall Festival Show, 1985, Khoumsalla had three offspring entered. Khall to Glory owned by Jack Allen, Jr., won both the auctions and the Medallion Stallion Championships for a total earnings of $17,650.00. Khall to Glory was shown by Jack Allen, Sr. Khalua Rose, owned by Diane and Perry Wagamon, won the Medallion Stallion Filly Championship for a total earnings of $7,650.00 SR Inshalla, owned by Gary and Becky Berhow, was Top Ten in the Medallion stallion Futurity. Inshalla went on to win many Championships at halter, including top ten at Scottsdale. Later he made his mark in western pleasure. Khoumasalla also produced a half-arabian mare that was National champion reiner.
HE WILL BE MISSED.
